The content creation industry these days has been tough to be in. Influencers are feeling burnout and pressured to post meaningful content. All the reasons why this is happening has a lot to do with what I’ve read in “Stolen Focus” by Johann Hari — they can’t seem to pay attention because of increased usage of technology, and it’s causing lots of mental health affects including fatigue.

As an experienced sports writer of baseball content articles, I know how exactly content creators are feeling. The focus, flow, and deep work states aren’t easy to come by because of what’s going on technologically. Viewers and customers haven’t been able to get good quality content. So, that raises a gigantic question of “How do people get engaged in meaningful content during the attention crisis?”.

There are a few ways to make this situation less of a problem and more likely to get better, starting with the usage of short-form content. Influencers can also manage their income streams and revenues as other solutions. While in this process, they must implement certain strategies, such as a distraction-free working environment and setting specific times to produce good quality content.

This is all just the gist of the whole issue. I’ve written my first white paper explaining it in a more in-depth way. We all need to understand as viewers and influencers how entertainment can be better, and this white paper provides a critical examination of the industry. It can be viewed below. Please stay tuned for future postings.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
